Detailed description
The T-seal comes in both piston (TPO) and rod (TRO) styles. This double acting seal design can be accommodated by a standard O-ring groove. The design helps prevent extrusion and spiraling up to 5,000 PSI. Hi-Tech Seals also offers a locking T-seal profile, which aids in the installation process.
The T-seal design consists of a T-shaped elastomer component supported by a back-up ring on each side. The combination of these elements results in a stable seal that ensures a positive sealing lip configuration. Popular materials include nitrile (NBR), hydrogenated nitrile (HNBR), and fluorocarbon/Viton™ (FKM) for the elastomer component and KasPex™ PEEK for the back-up rings.
