Reopening the Italian St. Andrea Concession

International oil and gas company Trident Energy announced a massive upgrade of the Okum field in Equatorial Guinea.

The project, located in the deep water region of Equatorial Guinea, and is a conventional oilfield development project consisting of five production fields, namely Okume, Elon, oven, Akom North, and Ebano. The upgrade will convert 15 gas lift wells into electric submersible pumps (ESP) by the end of 2022.

In preparation for the ESP conversion, Trident Energy has announced that it will upgrade Okume's central processing facility (CPF) to maximize production capacity, especially in terms of separation, injection, and power generation.

The upgrade, worth $57 million, involves engineering, procurement, manufacturing and installation of more than 200,000 working hours, 200 tons of structure, 700 pipe shafts, 250 valves, undersea power cables, hundreds of optical fiber-optic cables, eight electrical shelters, upper deck cables, new process installations, and more.

The investment is a good example of the company's strategy to unleash the real value of its oil and gas assets, according to Trident Energy, and the company is now ready to begin an ESP conversion.

The upgrade aims to extend and upgrade the structure of the CPF platform to support new equipment in the cantilever structure, add two new power turbines to allow additional esp and injection capabilities, connect the Echo and Foxtrot platforms through high-voltage submarine cables to provide power, upgrade the separation process to handle incremental output fluids, upgrade water injection systems to support reservoir pressure, and instrumentation and telecommunications upgrades.

To upgrade, Trident Energy's local team in Equatorial Guinea has managed all aspects of the project, including project management, supply chain, logistics, and coordination.

With 55% of services provided by local contractors, 32% by regional contractors, and only 13% by international contractors, Trident puts local content at the front end of the project.

"Trident Energy has made significant progress in expanding its footprint in Africa, introducing a new era of increased operational efficiency and productivity, through projects such as Okume upgrades. New exploration activities and drilling will be crucial to the continent as production of remaining African assets declines.

"The Okum integrated field, which includes five fields in production, will be particularly important to maximize production in Equatorial Guinea and the continent. NJ Ayuk, executive chairman of the African Energy Chamber of Commerce, said: " By 2022, the progress made like Trident Energy should be praised, which has made significant progress in expanding its oil and gas business in Africa.

Germany's largest Russian gas buyer is near bankruptcy

Harold Seegatz, vice chairman of Germany's Uniper SE supervisory board, told Bloomberg on Friday that the company was only "a few days" away from bankruptcy.

Uniper is Germany's largest Russian gas buyer, with contracts with Gazprom.

But as Gazprom (Gazprom) cut off gas supplies to Germany and maintained Russia's Nord Stream-1 (Nord Stream 1) pipeline, Uniper's gas purchases in the spot market cost more to —— than its agreement with Gazprom.

The high cost made Uniper a difficult situation, and it had to extract gas from stored gas. The gas is destined to help Germany get through the coming winter as it tries to escape its dependence on Russian gas. Drawing gas from the reservoir helps Uniper save on gas purchases, but it is just a game of kicking the tank into the inevitable bankruptcy of forgetting.

"We are currently reducing the amount of gas in our storage facilities to supply gas to customers and ensure mobility for Uniper," Uniper said, adding that it is clear that " Uniper cannot wait several weeks but needs help within a few days."Related report: The European Union froze $13 billion of Russian asset Uniper is already in talks with the German government over a possible bailout plan that could give Germany a stake in the utility.

Uniqlo chief executive Klaus Diettelmobach warned on Friday that it could not continue to replenish inventories until the winter season and could eventually be forced to raise prices or even reduce supply.

Germany plans to fill up 90% of its gas reserves by winter, with a deadline of November. But the —— plan, a relatively mild gas demand season in the summer, is now in serious danger, and Germany may see the winter heating season come with few precious inventories.

U. S. offshore wind power projects could face new crew missions

The U. S. House of Representatives passed this week the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which added a provision that would change the staffing rules for the offshore ships in U. S. waters to boost jobs in the U. S. offshore wind industry, however, the move could backfire.

The US Clean Energy Corporation (ACP) has slammed the move The Coast Guard Authorization Act contains a provision requiring that, within 120 days, the nationality of crew members on professional marine international building ships must match the ship flag, or be an American sailor, a condition of working on the continental shelf outside the United States.

That is to say, the move may have a negative impact on the ambitious plan, namely by 2030, the offshore wind power capacity will increase from the current 42 megawatts to 30 mw, the reason is simple, the offshore wind power fleet does not exist, and there is not enough trained American sailors. The ACP said: " Unfortunately, there are too few trained American sailors and no crew members from the flag country to staff the ships. As a result, the clause would stop the installation of domestic offshore wind farms and thousands of work, including the vast majority of American seafarers associated with these projects."There is only one offshore wind installation ship building the —— Dominion's Carybdis. For the ongoing east Coast offshore wind projects, they have signed contracts with European offshore wind installation companies such as Deme offshore and Maersk Supply Service (Maersk Supply Service won its second U. S. offshore wind installation contract with BP and Equinor on Thursday).

Aker Solutions works with NOV to optimize the underwater solutions

Aker Solutions and NOV have signed a technical cooperation agreement to optimize the seabed system solutions to achieve sustainable oil and gas, low-carbon and renewable solutions.

This partnership will combine the technical advantages of NOV and Aker Solutions to optimize the system solutions and provide greater flexibility and value to their customers and their energy portfolio projects.

The partnership will also strengthen Aker Solution's technology and engineering solutions for undersea and renewable energy products, such as undersea processing, separation and storage solutions, to optimize the entire system and reduce carbon dioxide emissions, as well as carbon dioxide unloading and transportation solutions for large-scale and cost-effective CO 2 transportation, storage and injection.

"Cooperation is the key to the future sustainable development of our industry.

By combining the technology and capabilities of Aker Solutions and NOV, we will implement new solutions and an optimized undersea architecture to reduce costs and improve performance, " said Ian Ayling, CTO of NOV.

The goal of the partnership is to find opportunities globally, based on the presence of the two companies in major oil and gas and renewable energy markets, to meet customer needs.

The partners expect that the joint technical cooperation agreement will improve the flexibility of offshore projects, reduce the environmental impact and improve operational efficiency.

Aker Solutions and NOV have a long track record of collaboration on oil and gas projects. We also see synergies and collaborative opportunities to enable the transition from energy to low-carbon and renewable solutions, " said Parisa Bardouni, vice president of technology collaboration and JIP at Aker solutions.

"This technical cooperation agreement aims to further explore and evaluate technical and engineering solutions and to seek these opportunities in major technology areas.”
