Strohm has received the Pipeline Industry Association Award for its undersea technology

Strohm is the world's first and leading developer and manufacturer of thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP), winning the prestigious 2022 Pipeline Industry Association Award for Technology and Innovation for its thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP) solution.

The industry association's annual event is held at the Society of Engineering and Technology (IET) building in central London. Guest speakers included industry leaders including Cadent Gas London Network Director James Harrison, Paul Denniff, Director of SGN Networks and Security, and Antony Green, Head of Hydrogen at State Grid.

A highly respected global authority, the Association has recognized the company's contributions to the pipeline industry for over 40 years, and over the past 25 years, its awards have highlighted breakthrough solutions in the undersea, land-based, and utility technology sectors.

Strohm has impressed the judges with its TCP solution and a brand new fully bonded weight-gain coating. The coating is intended to maintain the stability of the pipe during laying and to provide stability on the ocean floor.

The company has the world's largest TCP production and delivery record. It is a solid, corrosion resistant composite pipe solution with long life and maintenance free. TCP is light and winable to traditional steel

alternatives. Its delivery length was very long, allowing operators to use existing long-term leased on-site support ships rather than using dedicated pipeline assets, thus providing significant efficiency and supporting reduced emission targets. The TCP has a 100% fault-free tracking record, and it is also 100% recyclable.

Caroline Justet, Vice President of Strohm Europe, said, " We are honored to be recognized by the Pipeline Industry Association judges and won the 2022 Subsea Pipeline Technology Award for our unique TCP and weight coating solution, which is designed to help our customers achieve their net zero strategic goals.

Since the introduction of TCP into the market 15 years ago, we have established an enviable record that this technology has many advantages over conventional steel pipes. For example, our TCP Flowline eliminates corrosion and is the lowest total installation cost solution for new fields, brownfield and hydrogen applications. It also reduces CO 2 emissions by more than 50%, and it is noncorrosive and does not require any injection of any chemicals related to inspection and clearing.

The Rhine water reduction, Germany faces a coal supply crisis

As falling water levels in the Rhine fuel Russian supply challenges to the war in Ukraine, German power plants find it increasingly difficult to access coal as the energy crisis grows out of control.

Switzerland is also located along the 800-mile Rhine River leading to the North Sea, and is facing supplies of oil products as water levels fall, Bloomberg reported on Thursday.

The report, which cites government data, said the Rhine was at at this time this year, the lowest since 2007

. The Rhine handled plenty of supplies for Europe, including fuel and coal, which further exacerbated supply chain problems, problems already faced by other vehicles, including bottlenecks in the German railways. In particular, two German power plants, ——, lack one in Mannheim and one in Karlsruhe. These supplies are usually transported through the Rhine.

S & P Global Commodity Watch said Germany can only get about 65% of its coal supply in the next few months due to transportation problems, Bloomberg reported. While the drop in the Rhine water level has severely damaged German commodity supplies for more than a week, Reuters told traders on Friday that it has dropped harder at a key blocking point, forcing loaded barges to pass. The level of difficulty also meant that barge operators charged shippers higher rates, which meant further increases in the prices of oil products, grains, and other goods shipped on the Rhine.

Overall, the Rhine has become a more important commodity transport route for Germany and Switzerland since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February.

The Petrofac warned that annual profits had halved and orders fell

Oilfield service provider Petrofac warned on Wednesday that trading will fall in the near term, but expects higher energy prices to boost the number of contracts later in 2022 as annual profits halved from lower orders and rising costs.

Last year, the company got rid of a major unsolved case and struck a deal with the British Office of Serio us Fraud (Serious Fraud Office).

The move follows a four-year investigation, hindering its ability to secure contracts in the Middle East market. UAE-backed oil company ADNOC last week lifted a year-to-long ban on the Petrofac from competing for new contracts in the Gulf states. In a statement, CEO Sami Iskander said: " While customers continue to give cash preservation priority to new investments, we expect an increasingly favorable energy price environment to improve the bonus outlook over time.”

Russia is one of the world's largest producers of oil and gas. After Russia invaded Ukraine, western sanctions caused crude oil prices to break the $100 a barrel mark.

Petrofac said its orders totaled $4 billion at the end of 2021, with Russia for 0.6 percent.

The London-based company said core profits fell to $104 million in the fiscal year that ended December 31, up from $211 million a year earlier.

Trident Energy upgrades the Okum Field in Equatorial Guinea

International oil and gas company Trident Energy announced a massive upgrade of the Okum field in Equatorial Guinea.

The project, located in the deep water region of Equatorial Guinea, and is a conventional oilfield development project consisting of five production fields, namely Okume, Elon, oven, Akom North, and Ebano. The upgrade will convert 15 gas lift wells into electric submersible pumps (ESP) by the end of 2022.

In preparation for the ESP conversion, Trident Energy has announced that it will upgrade Okume's central processing facility (CPF) to maximize production capacity, especially in terms of separation, injection, and power generation.

The upgrade, worth $57 million, involves engineering, procurement, manufacturing and installation of more than 200,000 working hours, 200 tons of structure, 700 pipe shafts, 250 valves, undersea power cables, hundreds of optical fiber-optic cables, eight electrical shelters, upper deck cables, new process installations, and more.

The investment is a good example of the company's strategy to unleash the real value of its oil and gas assets, according to Trident Energy, and the company is now ready to begin an ESP conversion.

The upgrade aims to extend and upgrade the structure of the CPF platform to support new equipment in the cantilever structure, add two new power turbines to allow additional esp and injection capabilities, connect the Echo and Foxtrot platforms through high-voltage submarine cables to provide power, upgrade the separation process to handle incremental output fluids, upgrade water injection systems to support reservoir pressure, and instrumentation and telecommunications upgrades.

To upgrade, Trident Energy's local team in Equatorial Guinea has managed all aspects of the project, including project management, supply chain, logistics, and coordination.

With 55% of services provided by local contractors, 32% by regional contractors, and only 13% by international contractors, Trident puts local content at the front end of the project.

"Trident Energy has made significant progress in expanding its footprint in Africa, introducing a new era of increased operational efficiency and productivity, through projects such as Okume upgrades. New exploration activities and drilling will be crucial to the continent as production of remaining African assets declines.

"The Okum integrated field, which includes five fields in production, will be particularly important to maximize production in Equatorial Guinea and the continent. NJ Ayuk, executive chairman of the African Energy Chamber of Commerce, said: " By 2022, the progress made like Trident Energy should be praised, which has made significant progress in expanding its oil and gas business in Africa.
